The Miami Marlins placed right-hander Janson Junk on the 15-day injured list on Wednesday with ulnar nerve irritation.
Junk, 29, left Saturday’s start against Toronto in the sixth inning due to discomfort in his pitching arm. He allowed three runs on six hits in 5 2/3 innings in an eventual 7-6 loss in 12 innings.
Junk is 6-2 with a 4.09 ERA in 17 games (12 starts) in his first season with the Marlins. He is 7-5 with a 4.92 ERA in 32 career games (19 starts) with the Los Angeles Angels, Milwaukee Brewers, then-Oakland Athletics and Miami.
The Marlins also called up right-handers Seth Martinez and Freddy Tarnok from Triple-A Jacksonville and optioned left-hander Josh Simpson to Jacksonville.
