Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jake Bobo sustained a “serious” knee injury on Friday during a joint practice session with the Tennessee Titans in Nashville, head coach Mike Macdonald said.
“Our heart goes out to Jake Bobo,” Macdonald said after the joint practice. “It seems like it’s going to be a serious (right) knee (injury). We’re going to get an image. But early returns, just looks like it’s a long-term injury. That’s unfortunate.”
Bobo was carted off the practice field after thrown a pass near the sideline.
He played in 11 games last season and caught two passes on two targets for 20 yards. Bobo played on 17% of the offensive snaps (117) and 45% of special teams snaps (45). He made two catches in three playoff games for 33 yards and one TD for the Seahawks, who beat New England 29-13 in Super Bowl LX.
For his career, Bobo has 34 receptions on 44 targets for 323 yards and three touchdowns in 45 regular-season games (three starts) since 2023.
Bobo, 28, could have been a restricted free agent in the offseason when the Seahawks tendered a $3.5 million offer. The Jacksonville Jaguars signed him to an offer sheet on a two-year, $5.5 million deal, with $4.5 guaranteed, but Seattle matched the offer, per Spotrac.com.
“He’s a beast. He’s just a great, great football player, a great Seahawk,” Macdonald said. “Hopefully, (we) reflected that in our investment. We love him. We’ll be there beside him as he recovers and pray for a speedy recovery. … We said a prayer for him. Hate to see it.”
